WELCOME TO KENNEL GERSEME !

Our names are Gunn Halle and Geir Wiggen, and we live in Trondheim. We have a small breed of Cairn Terriers and Podengo Portuguese Pequeno Pelo Cerdoso.

I, Gunn, grew up with dogs in the house; mostly German Shepherds. Geir's only animal in his childhood was a budgie.

A got my own German Shepherd at the end of 1970's. After that I have had dogs more or less continuously. There has been a few cats in between, but now we only have an aquarium in the livingroom for decoration. My training in taking care of animals started when I 5 years of age collected frogs.

 I got my first cairn terrier at kennel Qasamo in 1994. His name was Rocky and he was a dear family member. Podengo Portuguese was added to our kennel in 2007. We participate in dog shows; mostly in the summer season.

 I have been member of the board of the local division of the Norwegian Terrier Club for six years, and now I'm member of the board of The Podenco Club in Norway. I have several courses in breeding and training dogs. I have been working in the ring at shows a lot of times; both as writer and steward.

The name Gerseme is taken from the ancient Nordic mythology. Gerseme was the beautiful daughter of Frey, and the name means "Precious - the most beautiful to own".
